A graduating Mathematics major is one of ten recipients of the 2011 Jose Rizal Model Student of the Philippines award.
Mark Anthony P. Amparado, who is a consistent honor student and an active student leader, received the award from the Knights of Rizal on December 31 in Manila.
The annual award recognizes the exemplary performance of Filipino youth who embody the qualities of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. Recipients are students who manifest academic excellence, strong leadership skills and sustained involvement in extra-curricular activities on campus and in the larger community.
Amparado is president of the Math Society and serves as a Philippine Student Ambassador under the Japan East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth program.
