With great power comes great responsibility. This is engraved in the mind, heart and soul of our 2nd district representative Manuel T. Sagarbarria. Thankful for the mandate given to him by his constituents in the 2nd district, he wants to compensate for the trust and confidence by providing excellent service to everyone.
In order to realize that objective, he first put the right people in the right place. Then, he clearly defined their respective tasks, blending their talents and skills for maximum output.
When he was denied the privilege to hold office at the legislative building at the capitol area a year ago, it did not stop him from pursuing his great desire to serve in line with what he believes to be payback time.
Other than his office in congress which is handled by his chief of staff Atty. Neil Ray Lagahit and his associate Elvira Alagao, he also has his district office in Dumaguete, located at Scoobys building fronting Noreco II building along Real Street. His district office is open from Monday to Friday and serves even to those who are not constituents of his district.
Maitet Yoldi is responsible for the operation of the district office, and she caters to patients with heart problems, kidney failure and cancer, for admission at Don Vicente Sotto Hospital in Cebu City.
Vilma Villegas is a pharmacist in charge of disbursing, requesting, purchasing, and keeping an inventory of medicines. She has 80 to 90 clients per day.
Genaro Turco in charge of receiving and following up on communications, such as Barangay resolutions and individual requests, barangay and personal solicitations, and free notarial services.
Libby Cimafranca is assigned to do Interviews, screening and recommendation for financial assistance for medical, burial, hospital bills and transportations.
Saul Armentano is in charge of Chiquiting Kami scholars and in typing of outgoing and incoming communications.
There is Bruce Teves, who is in charge of the Tupad and HELP (Health, Education, and Livelihood for Progress) program of the congressman.
Rosebert Benetiz is in charge of the second district projects.
Inday Tomongha, Gina Garcia and Otoy Merced are assigned as field workers serving as the extension arm of the Congressman, seeing and evaluating the immediate needs of all the barangays in the second district of the province of Negros Oriental.
Dionny Morito is the official driver and Flora Blaza as utility and office environmentalist.
Last, but not the least, is Steve Gabriel serving as the media bureau chief.
This may be the first time in the 2nd district’s leadership and management that this kind of staffing procedures and functions of personnel are in place. And it is indeed providing excellent services as viewed and experienced by the people who have been served.
