We just recently marked a historic milestone for the newly-established Dumaguete Mission as we gathered for the very first organized Dumaguete Coordinating Council-Communications Council Training.
This thorough and informative session emphasized our sacred responsibility as representatives of Jesus Christ, to support the Lord’s work to bring the Church out of obscurity and darkness, build meaningful relationships within the community, and be a helping hand, especially in times of need.
The Dumaguete Coordinating Council Communications Council, composed of individuals called to serve with purpose and dedication: Margaux Siason and Nikki Soloai as assistant directors; Hardy Villarosa as secretary; Brother Jason Isada as our social media specialist; and soon, Sister Diega Bahian as communications resource specialist. I head this Council as director.
Together, we aim to strengthen the bonds of faith and service in our community in six beautiful cities and beyond.
We were deeply blessed by the invaluable insights shared by our esteemed resource speakers from the Area Communications: Sister Haidi Fajardo, Area Communication director, and Brother Jet Belen, her associate director.Their expertise and kindness enriched our understanding, and provided practical strategies to enhance our efforts.
We were also honored to be joined by the highly commendable District Presidents, Stake Presidents, and their dedicated directors, along with Council members from San Carlos, Sagay, Sipalay, Escalante, Tanjay, and Dumaguete who traveled far to participate in this training.
The session was presided over by our assigned priesthood leader and Area Seventy, Elder Edmarc Dumas. Overall, this training was a productive success, as it was well-attended, and thoroughly conducted by the Area Communications themselves.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sister Dona Serion and her husband, as well as Brother Leo Salayog, for their generous hospitality in hosting and welcoming our leaders.
The delicious meal was graciously prepared and served by Sister Christine Ygay and husband. We also want to express our gratitude to Brother Herminigildo “Boy” Cruz for consistently accommodating our requests to hold training sessions at CES.
From this training, we learned how to better engage with others, both of our faith and from other faiths, through meaningful communication and unified action.
It was a powerful reminder of our shared mission to bring others to Christ and to embody the Lord’s call: “If ye are not one, ye are not mine.”
This training was more than just a gathering but a beginning of a united effort to uplift and inspire our community with correct truth and information, especially for those who do not know where to find it.
With hearts full of gratitude and determination, we move forward, prepared to shine as a beacon of hope and love, doing our part in hastening the Lord’s work in Dumaguete and beyond.
May we all stand together, through our righteous endeavors, especially united in faith to bring light to all those who seek it.
