Negros Oriental has once again proven its vibrant cultural heritage, as its performers continue to dominate national festivals, showcasing unparalleled artistry and dedication.
The recent triumph of Bais City’s ‘Festival of Harvest’ contingent at Sinulog 2025 in Cebu City is a testament to the talent, hard work, and unity of the Province.
Winning the championship in the Ritual Showdown Free Interpretation category, and placing 3rd in the Street Dancing competition is no small feat, especially against more than 40 contingents from across the country.
Gov. Chaco Sagarbarria rightly captured the spirit of this achievement when he described the performers as “already champions” even before they left for the competition.
The Governor’s support, along with that of Bais Mayor Luigi Goñi and the entire Bais community, reflects the collective effort required to achieve such success. Special recognition must also be given to choreographer Sherwin Taneo, whose creativity and guidance earned him the Best Choreographer award.
The cultural victories do not end with Bais City. Dumaguete’s Sandurot Festival contingent also performed exceptionally well, securing a 4th place finish in the Street Dance category, and 3rd in Musicality.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo’s commendation of the teams from both cities highlights how the entire Province stands behind its cultural ambassadors.
These accomplishments underscore the importance of preserving and promoting the rich traditions of Negros Oriental. Beyond the cash prizes and accolades, these festivals unite communities and celebrate identity. The talent, discipline, and passion displayed by the dancers inspire not only Negrenses but also audiences nationwide.
As we celebrate these victories, let us continue to support cultural endeavors, ensuring that Negros Oriental remains a beacon of artistic excellence.
To the dancers, trainers, parents, and local leaders—congratulations! Your success is a source of pride for the entire Province.
