The City Social Welfare and Development Office of Dumaguete City will hold its Social Welfare Day on December 2 at the Rizal Boulevard in this capital.
CSWDO Information Officer-designate Jackie Flores disclosed Friday this is the first time to hold such activity in line with the national celebration of its kind.
Booths by the different clientele groups, to include children, youth, women, Persons-With-Disabilities, senior citizens, and Day Care workers will be set up, Flores said.
Also, a CSWDO information booth will also be set up to provide information on the office’s programs and services.
The booths will showcase each group’s products and/or services, after the CSWDO had previously conducted livelihood and other trainings, Flores quote Carola Alquero, CSWDO chief, as saying.
The activity will open with a short program in the morning, to be followed by parlor games facilitate and sponsored by Qualfon, a business process outsourcing company in Dumaguete.
Each clientele group will have two parlor games each, Flores said.
Prizes are also at stake for the booth contest.
In the afternoon, there will be a showcase of talents, with two numbers from each group.
The budget for this activity is taken from a sponsor/donor, the Enchie Band, and other bands with gigs at the Hayahay Resto-Bar.
Products for sale will include food items (for lunch, snacks, and pasalubong), bags, pillow cases, throw pillow cases, belts, and Christmas decors, among others.
There will be a massage clinic at the PWD booth, Flores announced. (PNA)
