Some 1,200 graduates of the two main campuses of Negros Oriental State University in Dumaguete City listened to the challenging message of Dr. Henry A. Sojor during the 54th Commencement Exercises of the State University, March 23 at the Lamberto Macias Sports & Cultural Centre.
Sojor emphasized that success is a matter of choice, not a matter of chance. He challenged the graduates to explore the world.
The graduation in Dumaguete marked the 6th commencement exercises that NORSU President Dr. Sojor served as the speaker for the entire NORSU System: Mabinay Campus, March 14; Guihulngan Campus, March 16; Bais Campus, March 17; Bayawan-Sta. Catalina Campus, March 19, Siaton Campus, March 21; and Dumaguete Main Campuses, March 23.
Honor students received medals and tokens from former Finance Secretary Margarito “Gary” Teves, assisted by his father, former Cong. Herminio Teves.
Reymil Cadapan, university registrar, said NORSU has graduated an estimated 2,700 graduates.
