SPUD bids VPAA goodbye

St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD) will say bon voyage and thank you to its vice — president for administrative affairs and Local Superior of the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres here in Dumaguete.

Sr. Joseline R. Lasala, or Sr. Jo, as many would fondly call her, will be transferred to her new assignment at St. Paul College Pasig City in Metro Manila after serving SPUD for six years. She will also be the Local Superior in Pasig and will go through further studies on Environmental Management at the Miriam College, Metro Manila.

A native of Del Carmen town in Siargao Island, Sr. Jo had been assigned all over the country but her assignment at SPUD for six years was her first assignment in the Visayas and her longest term of assignment.

She will be remembered by Paulinians in Negros Oriental for her advocacy on Environmental Management Programs. The famous Eco — Solid Waste and Reduction Management of SPUD, which features the 4 in 1 Technology, Eco-Swarm Scholarship, Demo — Livelihood and Recycling Facilities, Organic Agriculture, Butterfly Sanctuary, Reforestation and many others.

Meanwhile, St. Paul University Dumaguete is also offering various modular and on—line graduate school and six months certificate programs.

SPUD, an ISO-certified and PAASCU-accredited institution, is the only catholic university in the province.

The university’s graduate school programs in education are handled by Dr. Caridad D. Maadil, dean of the College of Arts & Education. The graduate programs on business and public administration are handled by Romaro Ybanez, DPA, university research director.

The masteral program in Nursing is handled by Sr. Mila Grace Silab, SPC, dean of the College of Nursing along with Graduate School Coordinator Irene Jane Pueyo, RN, MAN. (Rafael Arbon Duhaylungsod, director for external affairs)
