Unidentified suspects walked inside a stall at the Building 2 of the Dumaguete City Public Market Monday and carted away cash money amounting to P100,000 more or less despite the presence of the CCTV camera and the narrow alley lined up with many other stalls.
The CCTV footage of the adjacent store owned by Marceline Romero showed at least six or seven persons milling around the Cecilia Lajato Rago store, a corporation owned by Celia Rago and Isidro Parungao, Jr..
Elvie Parungao, wife of Isidro, who was inside the store, was busy attending to one of the customers while the store helper, Jomar Toco, was also busy attending to two women who were asking for the price of spices.
She did not notice that one of the suspects simply walked inside and took away the bag that contained the money while the storeowner was being distracted by apparently another suspect asking about onions.
After taking the bag, the Tagalog-speaking suspects went out of the building in separate directions.
At the police station, the victim could not find their faces in the police rogues gallery and is now trying to determine their identities through the CCTV footage.
The main suspect was wearing an apple green t-shirt and the other suspect was sporting blonde hair. (PNA)
