Five students from Silliman University are bound for various year-long student exchange programs in different universities in Japan and South Korea, following their selection recently.
Christian Denzel Sagun (Nutrition & Dietetics) will go to International Christian University in Toyko, Japan; Charmaine Anne Malata (Mass Communication) will be Sophia University in Tokyo; Dale Dominic Casocot (Economics) will go to Hannam University in Daejon, South Korean; while Isabella Kristianne Angan and Jameela Antoniette Mendoza (both Mass Communication) will be in Shikoku Gakuin University in Kagawa Prefecture in Japan.
Malata is an exchange student under the Mobility Scheme of the Association of Christian Universities & Colleges in Asia. The four others are sent through Silliman’s regular exchange program with its partner institutions.
Meanwhile, three Sillimanians are now pursuing exchange studies at the Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana in Indonesia. Social Work sophomore Haragel Basong, Psychology sophomore Achilles Isidore Israel, and Philosophy major LJ Zaphan Lamboloto started their studies in Indonesia in May, and will return to the Philippines next month.
Silliman has over a hundred academic partners across Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, Central America, and North America. (Mark Raygan Garcia)
