The administration of Silliman University has lamented the move of the SU Faculty Association in seeking for Preventive Mediation before the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) over differences in their interpretations on the decision of the Secretary of Labor on their labor dispute.
The SUFA move came after the postponement of the signing of the Supplemental Collective Bargaining Agreement last June 23 after both panels could not agree on some of the draft provisions.
In a statement, the SU Administration said they had filed a Motion for Execution of the Labor Secretary’s Order on June 25 and had even informed the SUFA about it.
However, it was learned that the SUFA filed the request for preventive mediation on July 2nd.
The statement said the administration is fully committed to the faithful implementation of the Labor Secretary’s decision. (AP)
