Law students from Silliman University spearheaded a lecture and legal clinic on Children in Conflict with the Law and Children at Risk earlier this month at the Dumaguete Youth Home.
Organized in coordination with Atty. Gracelyn Bellingan and Joel Delmo, Youth Home houseparent, the project focused on the 24 children committed at the Dumaguete Youth Home. SPO2 Jinky Alalong was also one of the speakers.
The law students conducted the lecture specifying the children’s rights, available remedies, and consequences under the law. Afterwhich the legal clinic follVowed, that included free legal consultations with Atty. Bellingan.
The SU Law students who spearheaded the project were Chad Baylon, Nikki Diane Cadiz, Catherine Mae Calidguid, Irah Stefan Diao, Reyna Ria Meraveles, Mary Rockwell, Bobby Siglos, Hannah Margarette Teves, Brylle Deeiah Tumarong, and Jehanne Tupas. (PR)
