SU to host nat’l summit for int’l students

The Office of Student Services at Silliman University, will host the National Summit for International Students & Advisers from higher education institutions on April 11-13.

With the theme, Diversity and Inclusion: Embracing Differences, Driving Success, the summit aims to bring together on campus international students and their advisers/heads of international students programs and services.

Through knowledge sharing, interactions, and experiential activities, participants of the event are expected to deepen their intercultural awareness and understanding; reflect on the diversity and inclusion programs and services of their school; and engage and build collaborative network with participants from other schools.

The summit will feature a keynote address by Dr. Edna Imelda Legazpi, director of the Office of Student Development & Services of the Commission on Higher Education.

Session talks include International Study with an Edge: The University Town Experience by Atty. Junalyn Gift So; Cultural Diversity Awareness by Sharon Rose Dadang-Rafols; Building Cross-Cultural Bridges through Leadership by Daryl Robinson; and Collaboration and Community Engagement by Prof. Emervencia Ligutom.

Participants will also have a community immersion, and an International Fellowship & Cultural Night . (SU OIP)
