SU to recognize 8 outstanding alumni

Upon the recommendation of the Silliman Alumni Association Inc., the SU  Board of Trustees will confer the Outstanding Sillimanian Award to eight alumni:

Dr. Rolando Borrinaga (in the field of Cultural History), Dr. Janamitra Devan (International Development Economics), Dr. Joel Gamo (Medical Education), Dr. Rose Mila Cipres-Jaucian (Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine), Carla P. Gomez (Community Journalism), Dr. Anabelle Cunanan-Locsin (Gerontology, Geriatric Nursing, & Infectious Prevention & Control), Dr. Eva Rose Washburn Repollo (Education, Culture & the Arts), and Atty. Riza Faith Ybanez (Global Business Ethics).

Formal conferment of the OSA will be held on Aug. 28 at the Luce Auditorium.

Since 1962, 188 outstanding alumni have been conferred the Outstanding Sillimanian Award. Nominees submitted by alumni chapters are screened by three committees to recommend candidates, for approval by the SU Board of Trustees. (SU Media & Public Affairs)
