The SU Angelo King Center for Research & Environmental Management announces the following published papers of its researchers since 2011. The titles are in addition to those earlier mentioned in the MetroPost (Aug. 11 issue).
Siler CD, Diesmos AC, Alcala AC, Brown RM 2011. Phylogeny of Philippine slender skinks (Scincidae: Brachymeles) reveals underestimated species density, complex biogeographical relationships and cryptic patterns of lineage diversification. Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution 59 (2011): 53-65.
Siler et al. and Suarez-Aspilla et al. are examples of papers using the newest molecular methodology that enables researchers to determine the basic characterization of biodiversity.
The two Bucol et al. papers represent the use of traditional methods to describe the morphological features of biodiversity at specific areas of the Philippines.
The two types of methods complement each other and are considered useful in understanding Philippine biodiversity. (SUAKCREM PR)
