The Silliman Alumni Association of Sydney, Australia Inc. has entered into partnership with Silliman University in upgrading the medical facilities of the SU Marina Mission CIinic in Dauin, Negros Oriental.
The link-up was forged during the formal turnover of a cash donation at the SU Administration Hall last week.
In stating the purpose, Vice President for Finance & Administration Prof. Cleonico Fontelo announced the formal commencement of the partnership grateful to the highly motivated alumni worldwide in giving back to their Alma Mater.
The Association President Dr. Alice Dumlao said, under the covenant, the Sydney alumni will drum up interest among alumni and private donors in an effort to bring back the glory days of the healing ministry of the old Silliman Mission Hospital.
In his closing remarks, SU Extension Program Director Dr. Nichol Elman hailed the tie-up as a “catalyst of change” hoping its missionary zeal will create a ripple effect among generous donors.
Vice President for Development Prof. Annette Jane Belarmino extended more than words of welcome as she reminded participants that we are more than what we are when we are engaged in healing.
SU Chaplain for Christian Witness & Service Rev. Elmer Sa-a invoked God’s blessing for the partnership offering.
