An 11th grader of the RTPM-Dumaguete Science High School placed 5th in the Best of the Best Table Tennis Championship held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
Alvin Joseph Credo competed in the Junior Boys Singles category against 76 other junior players from across the country, including four table tennis champions who had already played in Southeast Asian tournaments.
The Best of the Best Table Tennis Championship was one in a series of tournaments where the Junior Philippine Team is selected to compete in this year’s South East Asian Table Tennis Association tournament.
The championship was sponsored by the Philippine Table Tennis Federation Inc. in cooperation with the Philippines Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee. Credo thanked Gov. Roel Degamo and Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo for their financial support for his participation in the tournament.
Credo will continue to train in preparation for the Department of Education’s Regional Meet in Bohol. (PR)
