The Dumaguete City government has urged casual employees who do not yet have any Civil Service eligibility to hurdle the Civil Service examination.

City Human Resource Assistant, Benette Jan Javier said they have conducted a five-day review class for employees to give them a chance to pass the eligibility test in an effort to fill up the vacant positions and enhance competency,

Javier said at present there are some casual employees who have had long years in service but cannot be given a permanent item because they do not have civil service eligibility.

The Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) urged department heads in the city to allow their causal or temporary employees to participate in the program.

Civil service eligibility is a requirement of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

The instructors for the five-day activities include the Dean of the College of Mass Communication of Silliman University, Dr. Maria Cecilia Genove, with Josephine Acojedo, Delfin Eupalao, Crisilda Estravela and two from the government sector, Javier said. (PIA NegOr/JCT)
