TANJAY CITY — Plaza Central School conducted different activities on Aug. 27, namely, the sports fest, the Education Forum, Teacher’s Day, the PTA General Assembly, and induction of homeroom PTA officers.
The various activities were spearheaded by Glenda T. Catacutan, West District supervisor, with the parents of Plaza Central students.
The opening program was hosted by select pupils of Grade VI. Rebecca Duran, Education supervisor, touched the hearts of the participants with her message. School rules and regulations were imparted by Richard Rivera, MT II.
Afterwhich there was a presentation of the accounting of school funds.
What followed next was a discussion of the varied activities and events undertaken by the school as conceptualized by the teacher themselves. After fleshing-out the positive and negative issues that are meant to foster changes, the homeroom PTA officers from all grade levels took their oath of office.
The parents and other guests also prepared a hearty lunch to show appreciation for the teachers, to mark Teachers’ Day.
Plaza Central School is located in Tanjay, Negros Oriental, and boats of a population of 1,349 pupils, 43 teachers, a principal, and 10 Job Order employees.
A bigger percentage of the pupil population come from prominent families of Tanjay City, mainly due to its location in the heart of the City, its security measures, and the quality teaching imparted in this school. Plaza Central School has garnered major awards in different contests both academic and non-academic. It has also produced professionals who now lead in the development of Tanjay City and the Province of Negros Oriental. (Ester S. Torres)
