A teacher is not only an educator but also performs the duties of a mother as a guide and molder of a student’s behavior.
Hence, a teacher should be loving, patient, understanding, and tolerant to deal with some disruptive behavior of students in the classroom.
There are several kinds of troublesome behaviors of students in the classroom: intentionally or unintentionally coming late to class, talking while the teacher is discussing, playing jokes on classmates, intimidating or bullying fellow students, behaving rudely with teachers, and openly challenging teacher’s authority.
These kinds of behavior make it difficult for other students in the classroom to concentrate on the lessons, and similarly, makes it difficult for the teacher to conduct the class.
This requires teachers to have complete knowledge of the methods to deal with such behaviors in the classroom.Teachers should think and formulate strategies to deal with misbehaving students.
For instance, on the first day of school, the teacher should clearly define the limits of behavior acceptable in school, and should state what he/she expects from the students.
Also, the first meeting should be considered the best day to distribute student’s handbook so they would be aware of the consequences of troublesome behavior.
