“No one will be left behind on the straight and righteous path,” President Aquino had promised during the launching of K to 12 last April 12, 2012. The President also said that through transformation into improved quality education, there is progress for all, rich or poor.
Is it necessary to adopt the K to 12 programs? What is at stake for us? Will there be a dramatic change in our educational system? Who are the frontiers of this giant leap of education from the doldrums to a gratifying phase?
There is always that doubt in our minds, and there are always the never-ending questions from almost everyone. But we will never know what happens, and what will it bring everyone if we did not try.
Change will never happen if we do not exert effort to make a change. Accepting K to 12 with understanding will help us in its proper implementation, and we as teachers can be the bridge to this information gap which is imminently taking place among the parents, pupils, and the new curriculum.
Equipping ourselves with the necessary information associated with the program will be our strength in combating all obstacles that we might encounter along the way as we progress with this new education innovation.
As a teacher, I firmly believe I am one of the responsible people who can make this change in education. We all should. Who wants to be left behind? Joining hands and doing it together will surely make this program a success.
