The Bert Bravo Technopreneur Center will soon rise in San Antonio, Sibulan, and house the SU Technology Business Incubation program.
In a kick-off ceremony for the construction of the facility, Silliman President Dr. Betty Cernol-McCann led the time capsule ceremony together with Atty. Edilberto Bravo, U-Bix Corp. president, a team from A.C. Tajanlangit Construction Builders & Development Corp., and Gallego Architects.
McCann said the facility will be a hub of incubating science and technology start-ups not only from the Province but from other parts of the country.
In 2020, Silliman and U-Bix Corp. signed a Deed of Donation and Acceptance for the facility that will be used for the SU TBI program. U-Bix Corp. donated 15,000 square meters of land in San Antonio, Sibulan where the Technopreneur Center will be built. U-Bix will also donate P100 million for the Center’s construction.
Atty. Bravo, a self-made entrepreneur and business leader, partnered with Silliman to establish the Center as a response to the need for a facility in the Province that can help develop ideas of aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators.
The SU TBI, which currently operates at the main campus, was launched in 2019 to help students and professionals develop their early-stage technologies into market-ready products by providing them with a range of resources, services, and facilities.
