The Pahiuli Artists Collective, a local organization composed of visual artists from the different parts of the island of Siquijor, launched the Terracotta Community Workshop in barangay Bolos, Siquijor town.
The three-day workshop which begins on May 23 is the first of a series of workshops this month, with support from the National Commission for Culture & the Arts, in cooperation with Hanas scholarship program, the West Visayan Association of Museums, the Tourism Office of the municipality of San Juan, the barangay Napo in the town of San Juan, and the Carmelites College-Siquijor.
Three more workshops will be held in two other venues.
A three-day Creativity Workshop will open on May 23 at the Carmelites College-Siquijor in barangay Tinago.
This will be followed by a Wood-Carving Workshop on May 28 to 30 in barangay Napo in San Juan town; followed immediately on May 31 with a Workshop on Serigraphy at the Carmelites College.
All workshops, facilitated by terracotta artist and painter Danny Sollesta, are free of charge. Interested persons may contact Junel Tomaroy, president Pahiuli Artists Collective. (PR)
