The Technical Education & Skills Development Authority Provincial Office recently audited 8 programs of Foundation University in preparation for the offering of technical and vocational courses in line with the K+12 program.

Universities around the country will be offering vocational and technical courses to high school students who have to complete two more years of basic education to be at par with students from other countries.

The TESDA inspected the College of Hospitality Management and the College of Computer Studies for their first visit, to ensure that these courses are compliant of corporate and administrative documents, curriculum and program delivery requirements, faculty and personnel, academic rules, various support services and classroom management.

The College of Hospitality Management’s audited programs are National Certificates II programs in commercial cooking, housekeeping, food and beverage services, front office services and tour guiding services.

These programs are offered for the entire duration of the Academic Year and are open for non-students.

Marilou Pidor, dean of the College of Hospitality Management, said the CHM has adopted a ladderized program for its students, She said the audit signalled that CHM can continue to offer the said programs in compliance with TESDA standards.

The College of Computer Studies’ programs on Computer Hardware Servicing NC II, Programming NC IV and its CISCO Networking Academy Program were also audited. CNAP is offered on a semestral basis under the College. (Febby Marton Rule)
