THANK YOU to all of you who sent your donations for the Bohol earthquake victims through ONe Rescue-EMS last weekend.

Thank you to the Philippine Society of Endocrinology & Metabolism, to the doctors who attended the PSEM postgrad on Oct. 20, to the Holy Child Hospital staffs in ER, BW and Clinical Laboratory; the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians- Negros Oriental Chapter.

Thank you, Fiscal Angela Charina Cortes, the Dumaguete Adventure Runners & Striders (DARS) through Maripol Rotea-Tecson, Edward & Dinah Chu, the Church of the Assembly of God through Prof. Jan Antoni Credo; Sophie Solidum, the Valencia Bureau of Fire Protection; Bendan Villarin, Teleconnect, Edwin & Jeannette Lemque, Drs. Kerwin & Desiree Gubantes, Johnny Yee, Cecilia & Nick Uypitching, Leah Verdillo, Marc Baviera, Dr. Rosanna Habana, Pet Lozada, and Dr. Remi Grace Aplaon for the additional box of medicines plus the tips on pedia dosing.

Thank you, Dr Jenny Emperado for answering my emergency consultation on Sunday morning.

Your donations went to 760plus families and 126plus patients in brgys Tuntunan, Bugtongbod, and Cabio in the town of Clarin.

Four boxes of medicines were also donated to their rural health unit.

Thank you to Candy & partner, Timmy Jonn Candace Yrad for bringing us and our cargo to the pier, and for meeting us three days later.

Thank you once again to OceanFast Ferries for waiving the cargo fees.

Thank you to the Velosos for dinner on our first night there, and to Franco’s friend, Labs, for dinner on our third night.

Thank you to the Lungay family of Natura Vista Resort in Panglao for opening their rooms for free to us and other relief/medical groups, and for augmenting our breakfast.

Once again, Thank You to the Bohol PDRRMC Tarsier 117 for arranging for our transport from the pier to here, there, everywhere, and back. The phrase ‘No we can’t’ doesnt seem to be in their vocabulary, and we have much to learn from them.

Thank you to the Army for the fast and furious ride to Clarin which covered us in creamy dust.

Thank you to the Mayor and RHU staff of Clarin for allowing us to help.

THANK YOU to the multitasking volunteers who joined me: Ryan O’Neel Equio, Rey Mendoza, Arthur Catan, Paolo Soria Oloap Airos, Robert Vendiola, Franco Catada, Monique Furbeyre, and Flom & Jay Datoy for contributing their individual skills to make us work as a team, for chillchilling lang, eating and sleeping whenever and wherever, for moving from Plan A to Plan B or even C when circumstances demanded it, for not blinking when a tremor shook the ground during our free clinic.

To the men and women of Bohol whom I’ve had the honor to meet, and who have been working around the clock for two weeks now, both in government and private institutions, you have my respect and admiration.

Bohol may not be moving on yet but it is getting up from the rubble, and dusting itself off, thanks to you and the hundreds of volunteers going in.

To the children at the camp where we stayed, Thank You for the gift of your laughter and your poignant voices rising through the cool evening air in song; for the gentle reminder that in the midst of adversity, there can be beauty, and there is always hope.

God bless each and everyone of you.

God bless Bohol!
