With the unfolding drama of the prol barrel scam, I come across some verses of Buddha which are applicable to Jinggoy Estrada.
According to Buddha, “They who imagine truth in untruth, and see untruth in truth, never arrive at truth, but follow vain desires.”
On the other hand for Justice Secretary de Lima, who is pursuing truth to come out on the pork barrel scam, Buddha has this to say: “They who know truth in truth, and untruth in untruth, arrive at truth, and follow true desires.”
Gautama Buddha is the founder of Buddhism. Buddhism precedes Christianity or Christ by 500 years.
On the full confession by Janet Lim Napoles, many legal luminaries believe that she is not a credible witness because she earlier testified in the Senate that she does not know about the pork barrel scam, or she refused to answer on the ground it might incriminate her or she has the right to remain silent.
I believe that Janel Lim Napoles is a very credible witness because her confession was taken with the assistance of her counsel, and before Secretary de Lima. This was taken before her surgery for the removal of her ovary and her womb. Napoles had said she believes that she will tell the truth because it is like a confession in articulo mortis or confession at the point of death.
In the rules in evidence, confessions in articulo mortis are admissible as exceptions to the hearsay rule because it is presumed that a person at the point of death will tell the truth because he is about to see his Creator.
If Napoles will be presented as witness, and made to explain her inconsistent statements, I am sure she can fully explain the seeming inconsistencies.
According to Buddha “Some people are born again; evil doers go to hell; righteous people go to heaven; those who are free from all worldly possessions attain nirvana (a state of perfect happiness).”
