Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and City Schools Division Supt. Evangel Luminarias led the distribution of cash incentives to local athletes who won medals in the recent Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet in Tagibilaran City.

Mayor Remollo expressed optimism that with the cash incentives and support of the City government, more young athletes would be inspired to engage and excel in sports to give honor and pride to Dumaguete City.

Each athlete was given cash incentives corresponding to each medal won: P1,500 for gold medal awardees; P1,200 for silveal medal recipients; and P1,000 for bronze medal winners.

During the awarding ceremonies, Remollo also committed to propose to the City Council a bigger cash amount per medal won by Dumaguete athletes who participated inz the recent Palarong Pambansa held in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. (PIO)
