To generate awareness of the community about the role of the youth in nation building, the Outstanding Students of the Philippines Alumni Community holds the first-ever TOSP-AC Region VII Day, a gathering of Negros Oriental’s best college public speakers and high school debaters.
The TOSP-AC Region VII Day is a community outreach and awareness initiative which will be held on Dec. 4 from 10:30am to 4pm at the Robinson’s Place. This brings together college public speakers, high school debaters to compete in extemporaneous speaking. Other activities include assessment of children with disabilities, information booth on disability, blood pressure taking, and blood glucose baseline monitoring.
This program is an important element of the Bayanitaktakan, a key project of the TOSP-AC. Through the Bayanitaktakan, the TOSP-AC aims to establish a more proactive approach on the social issues involving the youth and the community; thus, allowing them to become active community nation builders. With this commitment to nation building, the TOSP-AC hopes to develop not only excellent and socially aware public speakers, debaters, and citizens — but more importantly, it also hopes to develop excellent critical thinkers among our country’s future leaders.
The TOSP-AC Region VII Day is supported by the Youth Movement for Change Negros Oriental, a youth organization geared towards empowering high school and college students to take part in making a difference in Negros Oriental.
