Negros Oriental’s newest tour guides organized themselves into the Negros Island Tour Guides (NITGuides) and elected their first set of officers.

NITGuides’ first officers are Andrey Noel R. Tumulak as president; Pearl Galicano as vice president; Floriemae Datoy as secretary; Janette Infante-Mendez as treasurer; Diego Santiago II as auditor, and Bill Nograles as PRO.

Senior Tourism Operations Officer Myla Mae B. Abellana said the fresh batch underwent the Negros Oriental Basic Tour Guiding Training Course conducted by Bohol Powerhouse Scholastics last year at St. Paul University Dumaguete.

Abellana said the training was sponsored jointly by the Negros Oriental Provincial Tourism Office and the Department of Tourism Region VII, along with the Dumaguete City Tourism Office and SPUD.

The organizational meeting was convened by Abellana with the assistance of Raffy Duhaylungsod, president of the Tourism Educators Council in Negros Oriental.

The fresh batch was joined by the four remaining DOT-accredited tour guides of Negros Oriental.
