Tourism Office holds barangay roadshow

The City Tourism Office held its 4th Tourism Roadshow last August 18 in Barangay Camanjac.

This Barangay Cultural Tourism Fair was established to promote cultural awareness and appreciation geared towards the barangay.

City Tourism Officer Woodrow Maquiling Jr, in a press release, said that because Dumaguete City is also known as a university town , it is imperative that members of the community of the Barangay are enriched with culture, tradition and the arts.”

The said event aims to nurture a community of artists in Dumaguete City who can help sharpen and celebrate a local cultural identity and who can foster creativity and artistic professionalism.

The Barangay Camanjac basketball court was filled with spectators eager to experience such cultural festivity as they were welcomed by Barangay Capt. Bartolome Aranas.

The event was packed with joyous happenings composed of various cultural dance performances and song numbers. Highlights of the event were also the Dramaturgy Performances and the Show band Production Performance by the Vendetta Banda.

Maquiling said the roadshow was a success as it brought merriment and filled the night with with culture and tradition. (PR)
