Traffic hazard

Several complaints have been made about the traffic hazards on this part of Angatan Road near the Angatan Barangay Hall, which is along the westward curve from the New Banica Bridge.

Large empty trailers, 10-wheeler trucks, and wing vans belonging to JT Trucking & Forwarding Inc. (JTTFI) are regularly (nay, irregularly) parked on this site, thereby, posing as obstructions to the regular flow of traffic. These parked obstructions could lead to vehicular accidents involving unwary travelers, especially since these parked vehicles lie idle on the road without early warning devices (EWDs) nor any headlights.

Requests have been made with the authorities such as the Philippine National Police, the City Legal Office, the Mayor’s Office, and the Traffic Management Office to probe on the situation here in Angatan. We need the authorities to implement corrective measures.

It appears, however, that the government authorities have not done anything! Or are they incapable of imposing discipline on JTTFI? Must these complaints remain “lonely voices in the wilderness?”
