The Consular Chief of the American Citizen Services of the US Embassy in Manila, Kristofor Graf, visited the Province of Negros Oriental last week to explore programs that will benefit US and Filipino citizens in the Province.
Graf paid a courtesy call on Gov. Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria, and some provincial heads last Wednesday.
Graf, who has served in various capacities within U.S. embassies across Burma, China, Thailand, and Iran since joining the Foreign Service in 2007, was joined by Senior Consular Specialist Leo Anthony Balantac.
In a statement, the Capitol said the visit signified the Province’s dedication to fostering international partnerships and promoting global cooperation.
“Governor Sagarbarria emphasized the importance of such interactions in bridging communities and nations, expressing optimism for future collaborative endeavors between Negros Oriental and the United States.”
The statement also drummed up the visit by the Consular Chief as “a testament to the Province’s growing role on the international stage and its potential to contribute to a more interconnected world.”
With the Governor at the Capitol to welcome Mr. Graf and Party were Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Myles Nicholas Bejar, Social Welfare & Development Officer Hillton John Edrial, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Zoila Estacion, and Woodrow Maquiling Jr., executive director of the Provincial Tourism Board.
