The Negros Oriental Football Association (NORFA) will play host to the Kick Off games of the Under 23 Suzuki National Cup — Visayas Home and Away qualifying rounds — on Sunday, March 18 at the Filomeno Cimafranca Ballfield at Silliman University.
The five teams from the Visayas Football Association — the Iloilo FA, Negros Occidental FA, Leyte FA, Cebu FA and Negros Oriental FA, will compete in a home-and-away format sanctioned by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), said NORFA president Dick Emperado.
At least 33 provincial football associations are participating in the home-and-away qualifiers in separate legs in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao for the title crown.
Under this format, each of the provincial football associations will get to host a match.
Sunday’s match in Dumaguete will see the start of the elimination round for the Visayas leg, while the Mindanao leg will reel off on March 25 and the Luzon leg of the tourney on April 1.
Games are going to be played on rotation basis with the five Visayas football associations taking turns to play host.
Host team NORFA will play against their counterparts from Negros Occidental during the opening game on Sunday.
