The United Architects of the Philippines Dumaguete Chapter is celebrating National Architecture Week.
Held every second week of December, this year’s theme is Architecture and the Allied Arts as prescribed by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
UAP Dumaguete Chapter President Ned Carlos said activities like nationwide seminars, forums, literary contest, photography contest, design contest, exhibits, film festivals, fashion, sculpture, painting, etc., are designed to help the Architect be more aware of his potentials and weaknesses, be conscientious of the multi-disciplinary aspect of and impact to the profession, and be more understanding of the issues and demands surrounding his profession.
“These activities are also geared towards making the whole nation not only design-aware, but also design-focused,” Carlos added.
