The United Church of Christ in the Philippines in Poblacion Valencia,Negros Oriental will celebrate her Centennial on Feb. 25-26 on the theme Celebrating Christ in Community.
Among the major activities are a Centennial Parade around Poblacion Valencia on Feb. 25 at 3 pm, and a concert at 6 pm featuring the Manila Concert Choir. This will be held at the Valencia Central Elementary School Hall.
The centennial service will be celebrated at the UCCP Valencia on Sunday Feb. 26 at 9 am. This will be followed by a fellowship lunch to be held at the UCCP Valencia North Poblacion.
The United Church of Christ in the Philippines in Valencia was formally established as an outreach church in 1912 by Rev. William Smith, a Presbyterian missionary based in what was then Silliman Institute. (Rev. Noel Villalba)
