However, against this intended backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country is “winning” on multiple fronts, and would attack Iran and its proxies anywhere in the Middle East.
Many of the delegates in the U.N. hall stood up, and swiftly left in a public snub at the start of his address.
Meanwhile, in Russia, Vladimir Putin vowed to continue his war efforts in Ukraine, and further escalate his standoff with the west.
Iran also sent 180 missiles to Israel, who vowed to retaliate.
Under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, the Security Council can take enforcement measures to maintain or restore international peace and security.
Such measures range from economic sanctions to international military action.
The Council also establishes UN Peacekeeping Operations and Special Political Missions.
Can the UN pave the way to give peace a chance?
