Three prominent members of the United Architects of the Philippines-Dumaguete Chapter will be working with Silliman University in establishing the College of Architecture & Design: Ned Carlos, president; Val Vinarao, treasurer; and Angie Tan, Board director.
Architect Ned Carlos, a graduate of the University of San Carlos in Cebu, is the principal architect of arlos & Antique Architects, the design studio responsible for some of Negros Oriental’s design sensitive buildings including the RUSI building, DCCCO-Bayawan, and the St. John Bosco Chapel.
Architect Val Vinarao, a graduate of U.P. Diliman, helped establish the College of Architecture at Foundation University.
Architect Angie Tan, who has been with Silliman for a number of years, will continue to teach with Engineering and, this June, with Architecture.
“It’s about time Negros Oriental will have good taste in the design of her buildings and her physical environment,” said Carlos, “and it all starts with education and rearing.” (PR)
