Vaccines for kids finally here

Our Chebby girl is so brave! So happy to know that she was even excited to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Albeit there were a number of kids crying around her, it didn’t scare her, nor did she get carried away by it.

All because she knew what this vaccine is about, and that this is going to protect her.

A couple of days prior, we informed Chebby that she was going to get her vaccine soon. She said, “Yey!”

But of course, she brought up the innocent question if it would hurt. We simulated the pain into a form of pinching, and Chebby just said, “Oh, so it doesn’t really hurt!”

Opportunities like that pave way for us to educate our kids about the necessary things we need to do in life, let alone the most important things, like getting the vaccine.

When the pandemic hit us in 2020, Jadon and I have been deliberate with our kids, striving to educate them non-stop about the damage that CoViD-19 can cause to us all, and which had already caused us even losing lives.

So when Chebby and xxxx asked what we could do to help curb the spread of the infection, our only answer was “the vaccine”.

Kids are smart, and it pays off for us to make time to explain to them clearly. After all, we are our children’s first teachers, and learning always happens first at home.

As a parent, I love my kids, and will do whatever it takes to protect them, and not be influenced by hearsays of any sort.

I hope those who spread fake news, especially on social media, consider taking the time to verify their facts first, not only for their own protection, but especially for their loved ones as well.

Props to Mary Luague and her whole team for making the vaccination room conducive for a comforting atmosphere.

The whole process was just smooth, and the entire medical team was simply accommodating for the children and their parents/guardians.
