Vice President Jejomar Binay breezed into Dumaguete to greet political kingpin Herminio “Miniong” Teves, who turned 93 years old last Thursday.
Teves and Binay were in the anti-Marcos movement in the 70s and were both placed in positions of power after the EDSA People Power Revolution of 1986. Teves had served as Congressman of the 1st District of Negros Oriental before Martial Law.
Binay said Teves’ life is hard to follow. “Mahirap siya masundan,” he said in lauding “Mr. Public Service”. Teves is supporting the candidacy of his son Margarito “Gary” Teves, who is running for Governor under the Nationalist People’s Coalition.
In a press conference at the Essencia Hotel, Binay and senatorial candidate Ernesto Maceda gave their assessments on the national situation.
The Vice President also addressed political rallies in Tanjay and Dumaguete cities. (PR)
