The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) 7 (Central Visayas) is set to hold public hearings to gather information and opinions of stakeholders on the adjustment of the minimum wage range in the region.

The board will hold a public hearing in Dumaguete on September 3 at Bethel Guest House and four other public hearings in three venues in Cebu and Bohol from Aug. 20 to Sept. 4.

“The public hearings shall be conducted to ensure that all sectors and parties, who stand to be directly affected by the Board’s decision, are given the widest opportunity to be heard,” the advisory said.

The first public hearing will be held at the DepEd Ecotech Center in Cebu on Aug. 20.

It will be followed by public hearings at the Balamban Municipal Hall in Balamban on Aug. 28, and the Capitancillo Cafe and Restaurant in Bogo City on Aug. 30.

The last public hearing will be held at the MetroCentre Hotel & Convention Center in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on Sept. 4.

The board urged stakeholders to join the public hearings nearest to them.

Interested parties may register via bit.ly/RB7PublicHearing.

Parties may submit position papers at the RTWPB-7 office in Cebu City or through email at [email protected].

The last wage order issued by the RTWPB-7 took effect on Oct. 1, 2023, setting the daily minimum wage to PHP468 for the non-agricultural sector and PHP458 for those working in the agricultural sector. (PNA)
