We now live in a society where dangerous narratives are easily spread and strengthened by people in power.
The herd claps when the President says kill kill kill.
The privileged and not-so-privileged clap when leaders like Bato say, “This is the time for us to decide who gets to live, and who gets to die!” (uttered at Silliman’s Luce Auditorium).
Are we taking the time to reflect?
This narrative gives people the justification to kill anyone who doesn’t fit their practical or moral code.
– Kill this lawyer because he might win the case, and we will lose our land.
– Kill this doctor because he/she didn’t act fast enough to attend to our sick child.
– Kill this priest for opposing the drug war.

Will Rodrigo Duterte and the other gods be able to stop people from now making the decision on who gets to live and who gets to die?
Narratives are powerful when the powerful dictate the narrative.
Our narrative now is kill kill kill.
Gising, Pilipinas.
