Waze

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Have waze, we travel.

The fear is gone in traveling into the busiest and unfamiliar places. We are sure to reach our destination with smartphone at hand. All we have to do is follow the voice.

Waze (pronounced ways), Wikipedia explains, is a GPS-based geographical navigation application program for smartphones. It provides turn-by-turn information and user-submitted travel time and route details. It also downloads location-dependent information over mobile networks.

The technological wonder enables even the most direction-challenged driver to have the courage to venture into the haze of a traffic maze. Reaching the destination is a breeze. Fear gives way to love of driving.

Follow that voice. The Voice sees us via satellites as the GPS eye-in-the sky.

It fixes and recalculates the driver’s position, and progress on the Earth’s surface every step of the way till the journey’s end.

Rooted on solid ground, the driver accesses on the screen a sky point of view of his real time road situation.

In essence, it is quite similar to the three wise kings’ experience some 2016 years ago. They followed the star of Bethlehem in their quest to be at hand when the Sweet Baby Jesus was born as the prophesied King of the Jew. The X-mas Time celebration thus began.

*****

The Sydney Sillimanians celebrated Xmas with a party on Nov. 14. Dr. Alice Dumlao led the occasion at the Pabico Club in Mt. Druitt. Held some 42 days before Christmas Day on 25th of December, the celebration seemed to diminish its significance as the incarnation day of Jesus our Lord and Redeemer.

In an increasingly pluralistic world, it is politically-correct to assert a “Happy Holiday” than to be anciently boring with greeting a “Merry Christmas.” No wonder why X has come to supplant Christ in the word Christmas.

“No way,” the program emcee Max Pontenila proclaimed. Max, the first Sydney Sillimanian Chapter president, explained that Xmas means Christ must always stay, not Christ moving away soon.

Max is not mad with aggressive atheism to merit being called a Mad Max. He just captures the driving force awakening all Sillimanians all oe’r the world. It is via, veritas, vita. They believe in the Eye of Providence casting gaze all over the globe.

In our material quest and spiritual journey, God is watching us. Have the way, we live truly.
