World-renowned Catholic healing priest Fr. Joseph Maniyangat will be in Dumaguete City on his first visit ever to the Philippines from Dec. 13 to 15.
What highlights the visit of Fr. Maniyangat is a scheduled healing mass solely for the hundreds of “drug pushers” and “drug users” who had surrendered to the police under Oplang TokHang.
The priest, of Indian descent, is known for his healing ministry and for his short-death experience following a road accident several years ago, and while his soul was outside of his body, visited hell, Purgatory and heaven before God told him to return to this world for a healing mission.
The Diocese of Dumaguete, through Bishop Julito Cortes, had invited Fr. Maniyangat who will hold two healing masses on his visit here, said Msgr. Julius Perpetuo Heruela, parish priest of the St. Augustine of Hippo Parish in Bacong, Negros Oriental.
Bishop Cortes has appointed Monsignor Heruela as lead organizer of the visit of Fr. Maniyangat to the Diocese of Dumaguete.
Fr. Maniyangat will arrive here Dec. 13 and will meet with Bishop Cortes and other Church officials.
On Dec. 14, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, Bishop Cortes will preside over a Eucharistic celebration, with Fr. Maniyangat as the homilist, to be followed by the healing activity at the St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral in this capital city.
This healing mass will be solely for “surrenderers” who will be identified by the Philippine National Police, according to Msgr. Heruela.
On Dec. 15 will be a larger healing mass, also to be presided by Bishop Cortes with Fr. Maniyangat as the homilist, at the Macias Sports Complex that can accommodate between 5,000 to 6,000 people.
This will be open to the public, said Msgr. Heruela.
He encouraged the lay faithful to attend the healing mass for physical, spiritual and emotional healing as well as other prayer intentions as healing for the family tree.
Fr. Maniyangat will also speak about his life after death experience.
According to Msgr. Heruela, the visit of Fr. Maniyangat to Dumaguete is one of the diocese’s contributions to helping the government fight the war against illegal drugs.
Fr. Maniyangat is also scheduled to visit the Archdiocese of Cebu on Dec. 16. (PNA)
