The Youth Advocates through Theater Arts concluded a two-week Lambigit Summer Theater Arts Workshop program with classes for children and teens.
The Catherina Cittadini School hosted this year’s Lambigit which focused on themes related to resiliency, social media, and environment.
The workshop included exposure trips to natural and cultural heritage sites, with the participants creating and performing their own stories. The youth participants also discussed the impact of social media on the behavior of teens, while the children performed stories on bullying and climate change.
The training team was composed of Onna Rhea Quizo, Kenneth Catipay, Junsly Kitay, Flintzel Dyan Diao, Nikki Cimafranca, Jon Quizo, with special sessions by Aziza Daksla, Nicky Dumapit, and Yu Tamura from Japan.
From May 2-6, YATTA also organized a Dance and Dance Theater Workshop in partnership with the National Commission for Culture & the Arts and the SU College of Performing & Visual Arts.
Featured trainor was Guillaume Morgan from France who joined the prestigious Junior Ballet of the National Superior Conservatory of Paris in 1999. From 2001-2003, he worked with Ballet Philippines and Steps Dance Studio in Manila as guest performer, choreographer, and teacher. He is trained in traditional Indian yoga and massage. Since 2012, he divides his time between France and the Philippines, as co-founder and artistic director of the International Dance Workshop in Bohol and The Bohol Dance Project Company. Morgan was joined by Bohol-based artist-trainors Jerrey Aguilar and Jay Banquil of Kasing Sining. (YATTA)
