About 100 children and youth leaders from economically- depressed communities in Dumaguete and neighboring municipalities are converged at the YMCA Guest House & Conference Center in barangay Talay for the annual three-day Christmas Camp for Under-privileged Children which ends on Sunday, Dec. 24.

According to Greg Fernandez, YMCA executive director, included in the three-day camp activities are values formation lectures, interest group activities, sports and recreation, swimming, parlor games, community singing, group worship, skills sessions, and cultural night with campfire.

Conducted yearly by the YMCA of Negros Oriental, the Christmas Camp Program has graduated more than 2,500 under-privileged children since 1973. The participation of the children in the Camp is supported by sponsorships  of P750 per child from donors in the community.  (PR/YMCA)
