More than 100 outstanding student awardees from all public and private elementary schools in Bacong, Sibulan, Valencia, and Dumaguete were honored by the YMCA of Negros Oriental during an award recognition program.
Rosette Jill Fernandez, outstanding student awardee in 2013, was guest speaker. This was held March 17 at the YMCA Guest House & Conference Center in barangay Talay.
Earlier on March 10, some 111 outstanding student awardees from high schools, colleges, and universities were also recognized.
The YMCA-sponsored Outstanding Student Awards now on its 27th year is launched to recognize the outstanding performance of graduating students in academics and cu-curricular activities. This is done in coordination with the Department of Education, and supported by various benefactors and sponsors. (Greg Fernandez)
