Dumaguete’s contingent in the 2012 Sinulog Festival brought pride to the City as they landed on the 9th spot out of 40 participants during the Sinulog Festival celebrated Jan. 15 in Cebu City.
The achievement is a great leap from last year’s rank #18. The contingent this year had a P500,000 budget.
City Tourism Officer Woodrow Maquiling noted that the City’s performance was one of those that was well-applauded by the audience.
Dumaguete City’s Sandurot Festival QueenShekina Rose Lasola also won 3rd runner-up, and majority of the awards such as Best in Opening Production Number, Best in Runway, Glamour Girl, Ms. Shopwise, Ms. Teletech, and Ms. Globe.
Maquiling said he foresees Dumaguete to land on the Top 5 in next year’s celebration of Sinulog. (PIO)
