The best of the best
Swooned by the fantastic performances of Mitch Valdez, the Aldegeur Dance Company, the Aldeguer Sisters, singers Kuya Manzano and Anna del Prado, and painter Sid Labe fetched a compelling review from the audience during the Dec. 10 A December to Remember.
Held at Brooke’s Place, there was never a dull moment with veteran comedian Mitch Valdez who enlightened everyone with her stories and music. 
So were the sisters Terri and Laly Aldeguer who rendered a special dance performance.
It was amazing to note that from their 30s to 70s, these five generations of charming ladies could beautifully execute modern and ballet dances, extraordinary Pinky Manzano, Candice Colleen Teves, Chining Sagarbarria, Anna Winters, Joanne Winters, Maripaz Montano, Ana Montenegro, Karen Villanueva, Em Mayormita, Wing del Prado, Lourdes Locsin, Marilou Ortiz, and the sisters, while their eldest, Ditas Aldeguer, managed the technical.
Kuya Manzano and Anna del Prado rendered solo performances and a duet.
Meanwhile, Sid Labe showed an onsite painting demonstration portraying Marilyn Monroe.
The dance group in Dumaguete was organized by Terri and Laly during the pandemic. The sisters, who lived in Manila, found Dumaguete as the perfect getaway from the pandemic.
Moving to the City of Gentle People, they invited some friends to join their dance rehearsals as their pastime, and in 2021, they rendered a performance at Sans Rival, with their sister Ditas as part of the technical team.
Known to many, Dumaguete, the place of dagit or to captivate, has lured residents from other places into residing permanently here, with its contemporary and countryside lifestyle. Its rich culture, pristine beaches, and academic diversity make Dumaguete and Negros Oriental a perfect place to live and retire. For this, the Aldeguer Sisters found the ideal place to stay, and continue to showcase their dance skills.
Likely, the sole purpose of the performance on Dec. 10 was to donate its proceeds to the In Peace Foundation, A Children’s Home. Located at Purok Maisan in barangay Camanjac in Dumaguete, the Foundation works to provide basic and comprehensive needs for abused and neglected girls between the ages of 4 and 7.
