The Philippine Postal Corp.-Iloilo District Area 6 through the Dumaguete City Postal Office recently held a stamp exhibit at Robinsons Mall.
Cutting the ribbon and was PhilPost Dumaguete Postmaster Rafael Quirante Jr., Dumaguete Stamp Collectors Club president Gary Rosales, and Postmaster Joseph Ojales and Penn Larena.
The exhibit, which also features first day covers, was also participated by Allan Bennett Uymatiao, Milfred Ong, and Richard Rauscher.
According to Gary Rosales, philately — the art of collecting, classifying, and studying postage stamps — is highly-educational and a fun way to learn culture, history, and the traditions of countries. “Philately is also a wonderful stress reliever,” he noted. He said he hopes to increase people’s appreciation for one of the world’s most loved hobbies. (PR)
