Three reelected City Councilors in Negros Oriental are reportedly eyeing the position of ex-oficio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan representing the Philippine Councilors League Negros Oriental Chapter.
The three councilors are Dumaguete councilors Antonio “TonyRems” Remollo and Jose Victor Imbo and Antonio Remollo and Councilor Dan Aurelia of Bayawan City.
In the past, ex-oficio memberships in the Provincial Board were divided among political leaders in the first, second and third districts, with the PCL representative coming from the 2nd District, the Sangguniang Kabataan representative coming from the 1st District and the Association of Barangay Councils President coming from the 3rd District.
Imbo, who belongs to the Nationalist People’s Coalition, said he is not aware if any arrangements or compromise were made on the PCL presidency.
The election is expected sometime August or September. (PNA)
