More than 5,000 people benefited from the recently-concluded medical mission held at the Bayawan City Gym between June 7 and 9 last week. Over three days, 2,058 availed of the free medical consultation while 2,507 went for the eye consultation and free eyeglasses. In addition, there were 169 circumcisions, 342 dental services conducted, and 58 minor surgeries, for a total of 5,134 beneficiaries.

The medical mission, which brought together specialists, physicians, dentists, nurses, and spiritual healers from the Fruitful Harvest International Ministry, Phils., Silliman University Medical Center Foundation, Cebu Doctors College of Optometry, and Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital, was made possible through the joint efforts of the local government units of Sta. Catalina, Bayawan City, and Basay, with assistance from the office of Cong. Henry Teves, Cong. George Arnaiz, Board Member Arnie Teves, and former Finance Secretary Gary Teves.
